Answers to the questions we hear most.
Below are the questions guests ask us most often. If yours isn't listed, just send us a message. We usually reply the same day.
Booking and payment
How do I reserve dates?
Pick your dates in the calendar on the booking page and send a request. We usually reply the same day with a confirmation and payment instructions. A down payment of 50% of the rental amount is charged when you reserve. The remaining balance is due no later than 70 days before arrival.
What is the cancellation policy?
After the down payment you have a 48-hour cooling-off period to cancel free of charge. After that: up to 70 days before arrival you pay 50% of the rental amount plus a €150 administration fee. From 70 days before arrival, in case of a no-show or early departure, 100% of the rental amount is due. No refunds are given in cases of force majeure. We recommend taking out cancellation insurance.
Is there a minimum stay?
Yes, five nights all year round.
How does the deposit work?
We charge a €500 deposit per stay. Water and electricity usage and any damage are settled from it. The remainder is refunded on the first of the month after departure.
What are the additional costs?
The final cleaning of €125 is mandatory, charged once, and not included in the nightly rate. Tourist tax (7% of the rental amount) is required by law. A mid-stay cleaning (€75) is mandatory for stays longer than 21 nights.
On arrival
Who welcomes us at the villa?
You'll be welcomed by our contact person on the island. She hands over the keys, gives a short tour of the villa and answers any questions about the area.
Do you offer airport transfers?
We don't have our own transfer service, but we can arrange a driver for you. We strongly recommend a rental car, because the island is small but the most beautiful spots are spread out. See our car rental page for our recommendation.
What time are check-in and check-out?
Check-in from 4:00 pm, check-out before 10:00 am. If your flight doesn't fit those times, let us know in good time. Outside high season we can often arrange something a little earlier or later.
In the villa
Is the villa suitable for children?
Yes, the villa is very well suited to families. The salt-magnesium pool has a shallow section, the garden is fenced and Villapark Fontein is guarded 24 hours a day. Two cribs and a high chair are available.
Are pets allowed?
By arrangement. Send us a message before you book, so we can discuss it together.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, fast internet throughout the house. Plenty for video calls and streaming.
Does the villa have air conditioning?
All three bedrooms have air conditioning. In the living room and on the porch, fans and the trade wind keep things cool.
What is available in the kitchen?
An open kitchen with ceramic cooktop, oven, fridge-freezer, coffee maker, sandwich press and kettle. Plenty of tableware, cutlery and pans for six.
On the island
Do we need a car?
We recommend one. The island isn't big, but the most beautiful spots are spread out and public transport is barely usable in this region. We rent our own cars from Sunny Drive & Dive and can reserve one for you.
Is it safe?
Curaçao is a safe vacation destination. The villa is in a gated park with a barrier, guarded 24 hours a day. Use common sense late at night in Willemstad, as you would in any city.
Can we drink the tap water?
Yes, the tap water in Curaçao is desalinated and checked regularly. It tastes just fine.
Which supermarket is closest?
A large supermarket is about a 15-minute drive. For smaller shopping runs in between, there's the Chinese toko in Tera Kora.
